Magnetocaloric Measurements: From Energy Efficient Refrigeration to a Tool for the Study of Phase Transitions

By Victorino Franco | Sevilla University and Brad C. Dodrill & Cosmin Radu | Lake Shore Cryotronics

In the past 20 years, there has been a surge in research on the magnetocaloric response of materials, due mainly to the possibility of applying this effect for magnetic refrigeration close to room temperature. But in addition to the studies of magnetocaloric materials for increasing the energy efficiency of temperature control systems, the magnetocaloric effect can be used to gain fundamental insight into the characteristics of magnetic phase transitions. <read more>

mds15Obtain Faster Time to Market with Lower Cost with New INTEGRATED v.93
INTEGRATED Engineering Software v.93 has tools specifically designed for magnetic analysis which inherently includes coils and windings and the ability to do transient analysis. For the design of magnets, motors, sensors, magnetic shielding, or specific applications like NMR, very high accuracy of the field may be required.

INTEGRATED's CAE software offers the Finite Element Method (FEM) and Boundary Element Method (BEM) to specifically cater to this wide variety of applications in the magnetic analysis field.

Combined physics interacting with different solver technology provides the optimal solution for any electromagnetic or electro-thermal problem. Thanks to the parallelization of our programs the solution speed and accuracy is amongst the highest level in CAE software. Visit www.integratedsoft.com to learn more.

APPLICATIONS:

Actuators, Alternators and Generators, Coil and Windings
